Emotes

An emote is a way for your character to perform some action. Each emote word is to be typed in general chat surrounded by asterix (*) characters.
Typically an emote is just a short animation (such as *wave*) but some emotes are held until canceled. These are designated as (state) in the Note column. To cancel an emote state just push a direction key or press Esc.
Shortcut Keys
- Some emotes also have shortcut keys, for example pressing the letter 'J' activates the *wave* emote animation (but without the text that normally appears in the chat dialog). These commands can be changed via Configure Keyboard under the Emotes tab on the Gameplay Options menu.
- Lay Down is not in the list of emotes but is instead mapped to the 'B' shortcut key. It is also configured via the Configure Keyboard dialog but under the Movement tab instead of the Emotes tab.
- Crouch and Sit are also configured under the Movement tab, but unlike Lay Down they also have corresponding emote equivilants below.
- Lay Down, Crouch and Sit are special emotes because they speed up the rate at which you regain health, stamina and mana while in that state.

- All Point Up emotes were removed during the Fever Dreams event, after many players complained that a line of people pointing up would make it appear reminiscent to the Nazi salute.
- You can fake an emote in General Chat by typing a colon (:) before some text, although there will be no corresponding character animation.
- The text just appears in gray lettering in the chat window similar to an emote.
